The Shy, Loving Girl with a Big Heart

Cleo is a 2-year-old mixed breed weighing 43 pounds. She’s a sweet, loving girl who can be a bit shy at first, but once she warms up to you, she’ll be your loyal cuddle buddy! Cleo enjoys her playtime, especially with bully sticks, Kongs, and anything that involves food—she’s very food motivated! She’s got a playful side and loves to have fun, but she also knows when to relax and cuddle up.

While Cleo gets along well with other dogs, she does have some boundaries and will let them know if they're getting too close with a low growl. She can be territorial at times and prefers her space, especially when another dog gets too much in her face. However, she can coexist peacefully with easygoing dogs, particularly those of similar size.

Cleo does seem to have a slight discomfort around men, though she’s fine with her brother. She tends to shy away from her foster partner, which suggests she might need a little extra time to warm up to men. Cleo is best suited for a home with older kids, as she does tend to jump up due to her exuberance and might not fully understand her strength just yet.

Cleo is crate-trained and can be left alone for a few hours without issue. She’s about 80% there with her house training and will continue to improve with consistency. She’s good on the leash and enjoys walks, though she may need a little more training on not jumping up on counters or people.

With her medium energy level and loving, playful nature, Cleo will make an amazing companion for the right home. She just needs a patient, understanding owner who will give her time to feel comfortable, especially around men.
