Meet Dougie!

Hi, I’m Dougie, but you can call me Doug or Snuggy Dougy! I’m a 2-year-old, 60-pound Terrier cross (though no one’s quite sure of my mix). I’m a sweet, affectionate guy who’s eager to please and always happy to be around my people. I’m pretty low-energy and enjoy a laid-back lifestyle. I am pretty adaptable. I think I’d be fine in most settings! I like my foster brother, but I don’t need constant playtime. I’m also not too bothered by lots of movement or noise in the house. I’ve walked by children without reacting, though I haven’t had much direct interaction with them yet.

I’m great in my crate—sometimes I’ll bark once or twice when I’m first left alone, but I settle down quickly. I’m also a good passenger in the car and love carrying around toys, especially rubbery ones. I have a soft spot for watermelon, peanut butter, and giving kisses. I’m not reactive at all, but I’m still figuring out how to walk on a leash without cutting in front of you. I’m gentle when I play bite and love napping by the window. I can be a little picky with food, but I’ll always come when called in the yard. 

If you’re looking for a sweet, smiley companion who’s ready to strut around with his toys and snuggle up for naps, I’m your guy! I’ve had a full vet check-up, so you can rest easy knowing I’m healthy as a horse. I’m all up-to-date on my vaccinations, including my rabies shot, and neutered too. I’ve tested negative for heartworm, I’m ready to bring all my love and snuggles to my forever home!
