Meet Tucker!

Hi, I’m Tucker, but my friends call me Tuck Tuck. I’m a 2-year-old Coonhound, and I’m tall at the shoulder, likely weighing about 50lbs. I can be a little shy at first, but once I get to know you, my true personality starts to shine through. After a few days, I’ve really started to relax and enjoy some cuddles. I do get a bit nippy when I’m excited, but my foster mom has been helping me learn that I shouldn’t be doing that, I am learning fast. 

I’m full of energy, so I’d love to have someone who can give me plenty of exercise. Because of my energy level, I think I’d do best in a home without small children. I would do fine with older kiddos, but I will definitely need a bit of training, to help me be my best self. Exercise is key for me, so daily exercise and lots of hikes and adventures.

I’m not really into toys, but I do enjoy a good frisbee or pull toy now and then. I love the couch and prefer to sleep under the covers. I travel well in the car, I could travel in a crate or wearing a doggy seatbelt. I am always happy to tag along wherever you go. 

On the leash, I’m a pretty gentle walker and I’m not reactive at all. I’ve met other dogs and people on our walks, and I’m always friendly with both. I bark when I want to go outside, play, or when I smell something tasty on the counter, but once I’ve run off my energy, I’m as quiet as a mouse.

I’d really thrive in a home with another dog who can match my running ability and is easy-going and playful. I don’t show any signs of aggression or resource guarding with toys, so I think I’d make a great addition to the right family. With a little more training and love, I’ll be your perfect companion!
