Hi there, y’all! My name’s Tootsie! I’m a sweet-as-syrup, 3-year-old Chihuahua mix, weighing in at a petite 25 lbs. I came up from the South, and let me tell you, this cold weather up here sure is different! But I’m a low-energy, calm kinda gal, so I don’t mind staying cozy inside with my people.

I’m a quiet, laid-back little lady who loves nothing more than being close to my humans. Belly rubs? Oh, honey, I’ll never say no to those! And if you’ve got some treats or a nice bone for me, well, you’ll have my heart forever. I’m not scared of much and tend to be a respectful, easygoing pup. I’m a Southern belle at heart, and being outdoors isn’t really my thing, so I’d do just fine in a condo or apartment. I can adapt to most homes, but I think I’d really enjoy having a respectful companion—whether that’s a human, another dog, or even a kitty friend. I’ve lived with kids and cats in the past, and I’m good at fitting in, as long as everyone’s kind and gentle.

At first, I can be a little shy around other dogs. I like to take my time to warm up, but once I feel comfortable, I’ll snuggle up or even try to play a little! I do appreciate dogs who give me my space when I need it, though. I’m polite that way, and I’d love to have a companion who’s just as respectful. I’m a superstar in my crate—calm, quiet, and happy to hang out. I’m also a pro in the car, so if you’re looking for a travel buddy, I’m your girl! I’ve been learning not to jump up at counters (hey, I can’t help it if something smells good up there!), and I only bark when I see someone outside who looks a bit suspicious. Otherwise, I’m a quiet and well-mannered pup.
